Through personally learning from Tara
Through personally learning from Tara and teaching for her music school, Cascade Melody School of Music, she has changed my life in more ways I could ever anticipate. I almost quit playing piano, but then I met Tara and to this day piano is one of my greatest loves. I am eternally grateful the passion and knowledge she has passed on to me. Tara enabled me to truly be myself and play songs I wanted to play, while learning music theory in an easier to understand, fun way.
Tara gave me the opportunity to teach for her music school and that only strengthened my love for music. She allowed me to show my passion to others and hopefully inspire them to play piano, much like she had done with me.
Piano composition has always been a huge fear of mine, but for my senior project in high school Tara helped guide me through the composition process in a manageable way I am so much more confident in my musical abilities as a result.
Going away to college was a hard transition because I knew I would no longer be teaching piano or taking lessons from Tara. However, with her help, I was able to find and purchase a keyboard to keep my passion for music alive and further develop my skills as a pianist.
Piano is so much a part of who I am today and I am forever grateful for Tara and her ability to teach in such a meaningful way. I have never met someone with the drive and perseverance in her students that Tara has. Thank you for everything you have done, Tara! I love you!
Tara has honestly changed my life
Tara has honestly changed my life. When I started out with piano, I did not enjoy it. In fact, I wanted to quit. My parents found Tara through the Lycée Français, and she just changed everything I thought I knew about piano. Tara’s method allows you to explore what you want while simultaneously building a strong base. I played very classical pieces such as Fur Elise by Beethoven, then moved into more popular music such as Avril Lavigne. I finally settled on my own style, which I wouldn’t have discovered had it not been for Tara. She introduced to me Yann Tiersen and Yiruma, and other similar composers. I was also pushed slightly out of my comfort zone; Tara is a composer: and she taught me her art. By the time I was 12, she had helped me record a dozen songs, and had even printed them onto real sheet music! I didn’t even know that I was capable of doing this. Tara has made me truly love piano, and I couldn’t be more grateful to her.
